Meet Dr. Ryan Endress

Training and Background

Dr. Endress completed his integrated Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency at the prestigious Stanford University program, where he was accepted directly from medical school. During his six years of specialized training in Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery, he worked alongside world leaders and pioneers in rhinoplasty, facelift, blepharoplasty, cosmetic breast surgery, and abdominoplasty.

In addition to his clinical training, Dr. Endress conducted research on wrist biomechanics and reconstructive techniques, earning recognition in numerous medical publications. Following his residency, he pursued a Hand Surgery Fellowship at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, where he was honored with the Alice D. Jenson Fellowship in Hand Surgery Award as the outstanding fellow of the year.

Plastic Surgery in Colorado

In 2020, Dr. Endress relocated his family to Denver, CO, where he joined the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery staff at Swedish Medical Center. He quickly established himself as a leader not only in Plastic Surgery but also within the broader hospital system. After just three years, he was appointed to lead the Department of Surgery at his Level 1 trauma center and now serves as Chairman of the Department of Surgery and a member of the Medical Executive Committee.

Together with his partners, Dr. Endress envisioned the creation of a world-renowned Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics center. This vision came to life with the establishment of the LaVie Institute, which was built from the ground up into the exceptional center it is today.

Teaching Credits and Credentials

Following his training, Dr. Endress was on faculty at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, training residents and fellows in the practice of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery. He was the Associate Program Director for the academic training program and a member of the Marketing Advisory Committee.

Dr. Endress maintains his activities at the national level, and is a well recognized leader in the landscape of aesthetic plastic surgery. He is also the founder of #HandClub, which is an international hand society for upper extremity surgeons across the globe.

Giving Back to the Community

Dr. Endress has a passion for international mission work, with visits to Mexico for cleft and craniofacial work, Cambodia for pediatric and adult hand surgery, and Nepal for microsurgical reconstruction.

On a Personal Note

The essential part of life for Dr. Endress is his family. He and his wife Nancy, who is a practicing cosmetic dentist, have two small children (8 and years old). They love sharing all aspects of the outdoors together in Colorado! Mountain biking, hiking, skiing, and golf are some of the activities they most enjoy.
